Introducing The Content Club

Welcome to our online resource providing quality content for community magazines.

The Content Club is aimed at:

  • Independent community magazine publishers
  • Franchised community magazine publishers

Independent Community Magazine Publishers

The Content Club provides you with a valuable source of fresh, quality, advertiser-friendly articles, puzzles, recipes and book reviews.

It can be lonely producing a magazine on your own so we’ll be adding a forum in the near future where you can chat with other members of the content club.

Franchised Community Magazine Publishers

We’re happy to welcome publishers of franchised magazines too. I ran a magazine franchise myself and even though I had the support of the team running it I still found it quite a lonely experience. There were times when it would have been nice to talk over issues with someone else in a similar position, which is why you’ll be welcome on the forum when it's up and running.

I found that even though the editorial club I belonged to was very good, there were times when they didn’t have exactly what I needed. Another resource from which to draw quality material would have been great.

I also found, especially in the early stages of setting up the magazine, that money was a bit tight so I wouldn’t have been able to afford expensive extra resources. Some people running similar franchises opted out of the franchise-run editorial club altogether because they found it a bit pricey for their needs.

Well, I’d have been delighted with a resource which cost me just £15 per month. I think it’s a bargain and I hope you do too.

What do I get for my £15 per month?

Every month I publish five fresh, advertiser-friendly articles, three half-page articles, a recipe, book reviews, puzzles and a children's page.

Most community magazines are produced as A5 booklets so each article, including illustration, fits on to an A5 page. One puzzle fills a full page (word search or crossword type) and we produce a sudoku which fits on to a half page. We also produce a children's page full of puzzles and jokes.

PLEASE NOTE The Write Content provides articles for print-only magazines. Our images and articles are licensed only for print and must not be used in whole or part on a website. We thank you for your co-operation.

As most magazine producers seem to use Microsoft Publisher I’ve formatted the articles and adverts using this piece of software.  For those publishers using other software the articles are all available as RTF, text only files with accompanying TIFF illustrations. I also produce the articles as commercial quality JPEG files which will drop into any software template. JPEG files do mean that you'll have to use the articles as written but for most people using A5 format this won't be a problem.

All you have to do is save the article from the site into a folder on your computer and copy them straight into your magazine…easy.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL ARTICLES ARE PROOF-READ BEFORE PUBLISHING BUT NO MATTER HOW CAREFUL WE ARE MISTAKES CAN AND DO SLIP THROUGH FROM TIME TO TIME. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT AS AN EDITOR OF YOUR OWN MAGAZINE YOU PROOF-READ ANY ARTICLES YOU WISH TO USE AND NOTIFY US OF ANY ERRORS. THIS HELPS QUALITY CONTROL AND ULTIMATELY KEEPS COSTS DOWN.

I’m always looking for suggestions for article topics so if you really need an article on a particular topic to attract advertisers let me know and I’ll do my best to cover it. After all, you can bet if you’ll find a certain subject useful for attracting revenue others in the content club will too.

I hope you’ll enjoy being a member of the content club. I look forward to welcoming you on board.
